Benefits of Mantras
1. Increased focus: one benefit is to increase ones' focus in the spirit. Example; when the Church brings our attention to the importance of the Holy cross, the Project uses one of the mantras of the cross: " From this Cross, our sins are washed; with this Cross we conquer the world; and by the Cross we stand." This enables us to focus on the message and benefits of the cross
2. Meditation: meditation doesn’t come easily to everyone, and many people find it hard, it takes time and practice to maintain focus. A mantra can make this easier by reducing wandering thoughts. And this is called meditative mantra. Example: "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
3. It Brings awareness: If you’re repeating a mantra, in your head or out loud, that mantra occupies your awareness and helps prevents it from drifting off in other directions. This can be especially helpful if your mind tends to wander a lot when you try to meditate.
4. Reinforcement of meditation goals: Many meditation practitioners believe the vibrations and harmony of chanting certain syllables can enable a deeper meditative state. This deep meditation can help release any blocked energy disrupting your well-being.
5. Changes in the brain: mantra meditation could help improve brain health.
These brain changes appeared to lead to:
improved mood and well-being
reduced anxiety
less fatigue
improved visuospatial and verbal memory
